Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the 5th most popular city in the United States. Philadelphia is located in south eastern bend of the state at the confluence of the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, about 95 mi (153 km) by road, southwest of New York City & 105 mi north east of Baltimore. The city was founded in 1682 by William Penn to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony which also was founded by Penn one year earlier. In the ninetieth century Philadelphia became one of the large industrial cities of the Northeastern United States with a population of over 2 million citizens.

Pennsylvania State House, it was the place where the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were adopted. Liberty Bell, the iconic symbol of American independence, situated in the Liberty Bell Center in the Independence National Historical Park, a historic complex associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history. Eastern State Penitentiary, memorable former prison in Philadelphia, ESP was in operation from 1829 until 1971. Carpenters' Hall, memorable craft guild meeting hall, the First Continental Congress met at Carpenters' Hall in October 1774. Philadelphia Museum of Art is among the largest art museums in the United States. Within the museum complex in Fairmount Park is the Rodin Museum, with the largest collection of works by Auguste Rodin outside Paris on display, and the Art Deco Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building on Pennsylvania Ave with its six galleries. Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is the first and primal art museum and art school in the US, the Victorian style museum exhibits a renowned collection of 19th- and 20th-century American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. Kimmel Center, performing arts venue, comprises Verizon Hall, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Perelman Theater, the Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Academy of Music. Annenberg Center Plaza, venue for live music, dance and theater, jazz & world music. The Mann Center, seasonal outdoor theater in Fairmount Park.
